Jim Woodrum sent this to the RD's and in turn asked that it be sent to our staff that helped out at the workshops.
Dedicated Trainers Letter from Jim Woodrum
Tony Ortega, Eric Gesteland and Rich Manteufel from SC Region ran segments of the weekend training.
Many of our own individual hill staff attended and came away with some very valuable information. Many of our region training and evaluating team attended and will be sharing their experiences to the rest of the region. Between hill folks and region staff, S C Region had about twenty people attend.
We all owe a large thanks to Tony, Eric and Rich for their work and to all that attended.

As directed by our Division Director, here is the latest on patrol funds. I am sure we all will have questions, comments, concerns, opinions, objections, and hopefully good snow to relieve our tensions.

As you are aware from the SWEEP, this year we will be nominating and voting for two section chiefs. Currently Section 1 has Cliff Carlson and Section 4 has Dominic DeRosa. PD's/PR from those two sections, please, please consider someone from your patrol that would be a good fit with a desire to work within that section. That work involves visiting each hill in the section and working for them and with them toward training needs.
If Deb Hunt, our current elections advisor, does not get any nominations, per the P & P I have the responsibility to appoint the section chief. If we only get one nomination, we can and have in the past gone to the PD/PRs of the hills within that section to vote. That vote would be based on the number of patrollers at your hill.
We are a one patroller one vote Region and it is costly to put on an election. But if we have two or more nominations it is important that each patroller within that section gets the chance to vote.
Per her request, this is Deb Hunts last year as elections advisor. We need another individual to step up. Suggestions, PLEASE! Next year we will be electing a section chief for Section 2, Pat Schmitt is the current Chief.
The following year we will be electing a Section Chief for Section 3 and Region Director. Brad Bailey is the incumbent. Per the P & P, Brad and I can not run again because of term limits. Brad may be appointed again if there is no one running. Region Director can also be an appointment by the Division Director if no one runs.
The snow is flying here in Madison. Tyrol was open this weekend. I'm sure many hills are making snow, they were making snow at Cascade on Sunday.
