The snow has already fallen here in the south central region.  Sad to say it didn’t stay.

But with that slight dusting and the wind blowing in my face it reminded me of the same feeling I get carving down the mountain side.  Then on the ride back up the chair lift looking down and analyzing my tracks. 

If many of you do the same thing and enjoy discussing the techniques and body movement one must use to make these beautiful carved arcs, why not get involved in ski/snowboard instructing.  What a great feeling one gets seeing the joy and large smile on a students face when they realize that they too can carve in the snow.

As the south central region PSIA/AASI advisor I highly recommend you give it a try.

Especially those of you who are teaching your candidates toboggan handling.  What a great addition it would be to you quiver of talents plus think of how it would improve the overall skiing abilities of your whole patrol.

The main event this year for NSP is a Ski and Snowboard Enhancement Seminar at Sunburst, north of West Bend WI, Jan. 20^th 2007.  There is a form on the back if you are interested in attending.  Matt Schmitz will be there to guide the snowboarders. Last year there was nothing but praise for Matt and his teaching abilities.  We are proud to have him back.  For the skiers we will have a Level III  PSIA ski instructor.  They always have mountains of information for you in a kind and constructive manner.

There is so much to learn with such little time to enjoy it.   Please drop me a call or email and I will get you going in time to enjoy it.
